Milja Saarnio works as a coordinator of the projects “Assessing and enhancing transversal competences in formal and informal learning environments” (REAL) and “Cross-curricular learning in general upper secondary school” at Tampere University. She will graduate as a classroom teacher in the summer of 2020 and plans to apply for postgraduate studies after that. Milja is interested in the assessment of transversal competences and its challenges as well as learning to learn skills. In the project “Assessing and enhancing transversal competences in formal and informal learning environments” she is responsible for many practical arrangements and is involved in planning and implementing, for example, the university course and assessment tools for transversal competences developed within the project.
